Rapper will.i.am, former member of the Black Eyed Peas band will launch a new line of glasses and contact lenses, ill.i Optics, which will arrive in stores in the fall of 2014.
Born out of passion for experimental design glasses, the eyewear i.ll. Optics is the result of a creative partnership between will.i.am and his good friend, designer George Gorrow, according to music-news.com.
The collection includes sunglasses and eyeglasses for women and men, with a design created by George Gorrow, who followed the recommendations given by the musician.
The glass frames have shapes and colors inspired by moments of his career and influences of the 80s, the early years of hip-hop style.
Will.i.am is known for his contributions in the world of style and innovation, some of his recent initiatives include the design for a new creative space in Los Angeles, launching i.m.auto and i.am+, but also for his philanthropic activities in education technology.
i.ll. Optics products collection will be available in stores starting in September and will be launched through a global marketing campaign.
Will.i.am began his music career in the summer of 1987, as an eight-grader, when he met up with Allan Pineda, a fellow rapper and Dante Santiago, another student. While they performed in Los Angeles, they were discovered by Eazy-E.
William Adams, better known as will.i.am, is one of the founding members of the The Black Eyed Peas hip-hop band along with apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie. founded in 1995. Their songs are known throughout the world, and they often manage to position themselves in leading places in the international music charts.
