Nokia, the largest mobile phone maker in the world, announced today the newest and most advanced of its smartphones, in an effort to make a dent in the Apple market share.
Nokia N9 is a full touchscreen terminal, without any buttons, menu navigation is achieved by sliding the finger on the screen. A sliding movement from any corner of the screen leads the user to the main menu.
Nokia N9 has a 3.9 inch AMOLED screen (854×480 pixels), ARM Cortex A8 processor 1 GHz, 1024 MB RAM, 16GB/64GB storage, 8-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan OS.
The phone has three main screens that are designed to provide quick access to the most important things that people use on a phone: the use of applications, access to social networks and working on several tasks simultaneously.
The signal is excellent
Nokia N9 housing is manufactured using the most advanced polycarbonate processing technologies, allowing a superior performance of the antenna. This translates into better reception, better voice quality and fewer missed calls.
The only drawback of this design is that the battery can not be removed.
A smartphone with Dolby Digital Plus decoding technology
Nokia N9 includes free GPS service for car and pedestrian navigation step by step, with voice guidance in Nokia Maps. It is the first smartphone in the world that has Dolby Digital Plus decoding and Dolby Headphone post-processing technology, so users can enjoy a surround sound experience with any headset.
N9 can be used as an electronic wallet
N9 is equipped with NFC technology (Near Field Communication) which allows users to easily transfer images and video clips from one terminal to another, and to make electronic payments.
Nokia N9 will be available in three color options – black, magenta and cyan, this year, and accurate information about availability and price will be provided for each country, before the start of delivery.
