Famous artist Mick Jagger said that he would be happy to celebrate next year the 50th anniversary of the band The Rolling Stones, but without Keith Richards.
Jagger has distanced himself from Keith Richards after the guitarist derided Mick in his autobiography “Life”, informs contactmusic.com.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the band, Jagger wanted to play at the Marquee Club, in London, where his band had its concert, but does not intend to invite Richards.
“Maybe we could go back to the Marquee to receive a plaque for our 50 year career, instead of going on a tour. That might do, but, of course, Keith can’t come. Charlie Watts (who was not the in the band at its) can come, but, obviously, he would not receive a plaque”, said Jagger.
Mick Jagger, who along with Joss Stone, Dave Stewart, Damian Marley and AR Rahman, has founded the band SuperHeavy, said that his fellow Rolling Stones listened to his new band album, with the exception of Keith Richards.
“Ronnie has listened to the album. It is very nice and encouraging. He liked it very much, especially the first songs. And Charlie liked it, too. I do not know if Keith listens to so many. I do not know Keith listens. He says that he’s listening to Chuck Berry, but I’d be really surprised”, said Jagger.
Mick Jagger is part of The Rolling Stones, with Ronnie Wood, Charlie Watts and Keith Richards. The Rolling Stones sold over 200 million albums worldwide over the last five decades and had thousands of full house concerts.
