Journey into the Past of Rome, for its 2764th Anniversary

Rome offered a journey into the past to celebrate the 2,764th anniversary, an event which was marked in the Italian capital on Thursday by musical performances and other shows for its creation in the year 753 BC, with Romulus and Remus as protagonists .

In addition to the twins, young women slaves, and some shepherds and muscular warriors have met at Circo Massimo, the largest horse racing stadium in the past time for a performance in four acts, which shows how Rome was born and how its inhabitants lived.

Without any complicated manuals and exams, dozens of children who went to the meeting with the history, accompanied by their families were taught in a fun way that Rome is the city founded on April 21, 753 BC and its first king was Romulus, one of the twins, nursed by a wolf, that came to power after killing his brother Remus.

“This holiday is very important for all residents of Rome, and for people from other countries, because it marks the birth of this unique city”, said a member of the Gruppo Storico Romano, Claudio Spazziani.

“It’s the birthday of the city and, therefore, something that fills us with pride, especially because, if we consider what has managed Rome to accomplish over the centuries, we realize that there is no other town like Rome”, Claudio Spazziani added.

To celebrate the birthday of the Eternal City, on Thursday, April 21, City of Rome has organized over 20 events, including free concerts in the key markets of the city, and  free admission to the municipal museums.
