Google left behind by Apple

Google Vs. AppleThere is no surprise that Apple products are consumer’s favorites and they prove to be a sales success immediately after their launch. At the same time, what Google does is left behind. Not because Google’s products would not have a good quality, but they have a design problem, comments Business Insider. Google TV, for example, was a failure because of the design that seems to have been built for consumers who still enjoy to buy TVs, but are as complicated as computers.

The email system from Google – Gmail for years forced users to use a format for conversations that confused those who like simple email. Android operating system from Google, on the other hand, despite the fact that it has several technical advantages against the iOS from Apple, is still more difficult and more complicated to use than Apple’s. The problem with these products from Google is, in view of the Business Insider, as they are made for computer and technology enthusiasts, while Apple products are designed for ordinary people. And it seems that technology freaks are very few and not a large enough market to help Google to become a brand loved by the masses, as the Apple model. This is due to the fact that Google was founded by people who have followed some of the most prestigious universities in the country and is recognized for the fact that it hires some of the smartest professionals.

Apple, on the other hand, was founded by a young man who dropped out of college and who used drugs, but that proved to be a genius in terms of product design, which no school would have been able to teach him better. Like most people working at Google, Steve Jobs was brilliant, but at the same time, he would have  never been hired by them. The hiring algorithm at Google is primarily based on educational background. In other words, Jobs was a genius, but Google would have never capitalized on his design skills.

Consequently, for Google to become a mass brand, it would need more geniuses like Steve Jobs. And also the place where these geniuses could be found is not necessarily at the most prestigious universities that develop the best IT programs in the country. Google predominantly hires from the best technical universities like Stanford and MIT.
