Omar Bin Laden, the son of planet’s most wanted terrorist, Osama Bin Laden, said he was invited to the White House in the waning days of George W. Bush mandate, former U.S. president’s last attempt to find out where the leader of al-Qaida was hiding, writes Daily Telegraph.
Omar Bin Laden, the fourth son of al-Qaida leader, says he was visited in January 2009, at his home in Doha, Qatar’s capital, by emissaries of the White House.
“I was invited to come with them to the White House; they offered me security, assistance and protection provided that I help them to find my father”, Omar said in an interview published yesterday in the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia. The young 29 year old refused claiming duty of a child to his parents.
“I told them that I can’t do that, as he’s my father, I’m his son, and this is the way a child needs to love and respect the parent, even though, in many cases a person may have ideas contrary to those of his father”, said Osama Bin Laden’s son.
Omar Bin Laden claims he knows nothing about his father
Omar admitted he no longer have any connection with his father for nearly ten years. He says he has dropped violence, leaving his father’s headquarters in the mountains of Tora Bora (Afghanistan) a few months before the September 11, 2011 attacks.
“Since then, I have not received any message from my father”, said Omar Bin Laden.
In subsequent years, Omar has married a much older than him British woman, converted her to Islam and changed her name from Jane Felix-Browne to Zaina. The two were married in 2007 but broke up last summer after he was possibly diagnosed with schizophrenia, and after the news that a surrogate mother from Bristol is pregnant with the couple’s twins.
Also, Omar bin Laden did not confirm whether his father is still alive.
A White House spokesman said that they will not be make any comments about activities that had occurred in a previous administration.
