Former IMF Chief, Hostage of his Wife

Released on bail from prison, Strauss-Kahn is under house arrest in a Manhattan luxury apartment belonging to his wife.

Anne Sinclair, married for 20 years to Dominique Strauss-Kahn, was with her husband in all these seven days, since the former IMF chief was arrested for allegedly raping a maid in a hotel in New York. Anne claimed before the media and the American court that DSK is “a wonderful husband and father.” In the courtroom, Anne had to listen to all the seven counts for which the former chief of IMF was indicted: oral sex against one’s will, “double contact of penis’ aggressor with the victim’s mouth” (considered a dual sexual offense), sexual intercourse by using physical force, “sexual intercourse without the partner will”, “touching by the use of force, unlawful inprisonment.

The Western press points out that Anne Sinclair (62 years old) is one of the richest women in France and that she is more popular than wife of President Nicolas Sarkozy, Carla Bruni. Anne Sinclair gave up her career as a journalist when he was appointed minister in Paris. She is the granddaughter and heiress of the famous French art and antiques dealer Paul Rosenberg, recalls “Bild.” Her mother and grandmother appear in a painting by Picasso.

Giving up her career

A law graduate, Anne Sinclair has chosen a career in television. Her show, “7 sur 7”, which known politicians have attended, used to have 12 million viewers. She met DSK in 1989 and it was love at first sight. In 1991 they were married. For him it was already the third marriage, for her, the second. She had two children, he had four. The two lived a luxury life on all continents: the house in the most expensive Parisian neighbourhood, a mansion in Washington, holiday house in Marrakesh. “We love each other like on the first day”.

“Politicians must know how to seduce”, she said in 2008, when the press made revelations about his affair with a Hungarian woman. DSK is now “stuck” at least until the 6th of June, when he will have the next hearing, to stay in the Manhattan luxury villa of his wife, along with her. He will wear an electronic bracelet and his every move will be monitored by the bodyguards.
