Members of the band Coldplay have revealed that they have recorded with Rihanna for their fifth studio album, “Mylo Xyloto”.
The band will release the new album on October 24 and has already confirmed that it includes a song with Rihanna titled “Princess of China”, informs contactmusic.com.
“The album is designed as a whole. It has a male and a female main character and the first on our list was Rihanna. I had a show in Las Vegas, I met with her and I said, <Do you think there is any chance?>”. I acted in the style of Hugh Grant”, said Chris Martin.
Rihanna “has an amazing voice and she is so different”, said Martin. Coldplay released Monday the second single from the new album, called “Paradise”.
Coldplay is a British rock band formed in 1998 in London. The band consists of Chris Martin (vocals, piano), Jonny Buckland (guitar), Guy Berryman (bass) and Will Champion (drums). The band was nominated for the prestigious award on two other occasions in 2003 and 2005. Coldplay is one of the most successful bands of the new wave, with sales of over 30 million albums. Its hits include “In My Place”, “Clocks” and “Scientist”.
Rihanna has released her first album in 2005 and her first single that became No. 1 was the song “SOS”. It followed three other songs that came first in the musical tops: “Umbrella,” “Take a Bow” and “Disturbia”. Before “Loud” was released last year, the singer released the album “Rated R” in November 2009. Her albums have sold over 25 million copies worldwide, and the singer was rewarded with nine Grammy Awards.
