A Study Shows That Rested People Are More Beautiful

The sleep of beauty is not a myth or a whim of fancy ladies. A well-founded study led by a couple of Swedish researchers shows that beauty is synonymous with rest.

People who are deprived of sleep for long periods of time are perceived as unattractive to the opposite sex, and unhealthy for both sexes, according to the study conducted by the scientists from the Karolinska Research Institute in Stockholm.

Dozens of subjects, men and women, in the prime of life, were photographed after a restful sleep after more than 24 hours without sleeping. The photos were made in a fixed frame, without applying makeup and with an identical light. Volunteers who have examined the photos did not hesitate to choose almost unanimously as an attractive option for the subjects rested and to reject the tired faces.

So the concept of beauty sleep is not an invention.

However, the authors recognize that in addition to the statistical argument, there is no scientific evidence to support the theory that rested people would be more beautiful indeed.

The only certainty is that those who are not compromising the rest are healthier because they allow the body to regenerate sufficient in the period of rest.
