Madame Tussauds wax museums around the world unveiled eight wax statues of singer Lady Gaga on Thursday. Each of the eight statues wears a different outfit suggestive of the star’s original and non-conformist style.
In London, Lady Gaga wax version wears an a suit from the house of Giorgio Armani, with a telephone-shaped hat made by Philip Treacy, hinting at one of her most popular songs.
Putting their bets on Lady Gaga’s cohorts of fans wanting to see the new additions to the wax museum, Masame Tussauds spent some 2.4 million dollars for the project. The London museum’s sculptor, Stephen Mansfield, said that each unveiling was a surprise and each statue has a different style. He added that the idea is fun and that it adds to the “hoopla” around Lady Gaga and what she represents.
To her fans, she is a source of inspiration by not caring about people’s opinions on her and staying true to herself.
The other cities where her statues have been displayed are Amsterdam, Hollywood, Berlin, Las Vegas, New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
By her real name Stefani Germanotta, Lady Gaga (24) has become highly influential in the music industry over the last two years. Dance hits such as “Telephone” and “Bad Romance”, and her fresh and outrageous style, brought her millions of fans worldwide, as well as in the virtual worlds.
