What Colors European Customers Prefer for Cars

A study conducted by Ford on the European market shows that most customers still prefer white, black and silver when buying a car.

However, there is a pretty significant change in preferences for each country. With a few exceptions. Thus, although there is a great distance apart, Norway and Portugal share the same six favorite colors, while one country has a different color than black, silver or white at the top of their buyers’ preferences: Czech Republic.

Another study conducted by DuPont shows that, globally, silver is the most sought car color (26%). Both studies reveal that in recent years the nuances of “the earth” colors (beige, brown, orange) are becoming more interesting for car buyers. “It has taken quite a long time for people to return to brown shades, until recently perceived as old fashioned – the `60s, `70s. Now these tones come back en vogue in force”, said Julie Francis, a member of Ford of Europe design team.
